Brief: Observe, refine and develop the methods learned in the first nine weeks of workshops, to define and create a self-directed project.
Concept: Through the 2C project I noticed a common theme in my street photography and that was my avoidance of people. This was not surprising for me to notice as taking photos of people is just something I do not like to do. I prefer to notice and capture the empty spaces. As such I took a lot of architectural photographs of buildings, alleyways, the spaces building make and cut away from the sky, and other spaces especially those around where I live. I also loved how removing the colour from these photos enhanced the contrast and richness within them.
Outcome: For my personal project I decided to continue to build on the concept I explored within my 2C street photography project. Through exploring these same concepts in different areas around Melbourne and even further throughout my own neighbourhood I decided to get a better understanding of these empty spaces and how they differ or share similarities to one another.
